ROUNDABOUT ART CENTER
Merging art and design in one space is an interesting approach, as it can blur the boundaries between these two disciplines and open up new possibilities for creative expression. Art often focuses on exploring concepts, emotions and ideas, while design focuses more on solving problems and creating functional objects or environments.
It is a fascinating concept, the workings of which can be seen at the exhibition 'Southerners' .
The title for this exhibition not only emphasizes the geographical origin of the exhibiting artists, but also their unique identity and diversity of styles, colors and artistic principles. This exhibition gives visitors a deeper insight into the creative process and the inspirations behind the works on display.

Often people look, but they do not see the essence. There is so much to discover in art: light, layers, dimensions, emotions, together with design. It can broaden your horizons enormously.
Henk van Hemert investigates the complexity of human existence by identifying parallels between paradoxical ideas about violence, innocence, guilt and shame. The human figure acts as a central element  in his compositions, the energetic way in which he places the figure on the canvas reflects the relationship between painting and painter, suggesting images that struggle to emerge fully and reveal themselves.
General feelings about interpersonal relationships and relationships between humans and animals are and remain the source of inspiration for his art.
